Sasa Pesic, advocate for stray dogs, walks through the shelter in Nis, 200 km south of Belgrade on January 28, 2015. Sasa Pesic was just one among thousands of Serbia’s jobless when the finding of four abandoned puppies brought a dramatic change into his life. Eventually becoming a stray dogs protector Pesic is now taking care of more than 450 of those animals in his asylum in the southern town of Nis and knows each of them by name.
